Why do all the top search engine whizz kids charge so much money? The simple answer to this is because they can and we will pay!<br /><br />I am fed up with companies listed on the internet charging thousands of dollars for their service, when in fact you can learn the knowledge for a lot less and sometimes completely free. On the right hand side I have listed my "Top Picks". This is a list of some of the best Search Engine optimization e-books you can buy. You have to get this imbedded in your head and realise that the higher your your website is the more money you will make, its that Simple!<br /><br />If your completely new to the internet or are an experienced webmaster there are always extra tips to learn, so I'm going to give you a few tips.<br /><br />Firstly there are two types of search engine optimization, (offpage optimization) and (onpage optimization). So whats the difference I hear you ask.<br /><br />Offpage optimization factors include-<br /><br />- Which websites link to you<br />- The number of websites linking to you<br />- The Google of the website linking to you<br />- The page title of the website linking to you<br />- The anchor text used in the link linking to you<br />- The number and type of links linking to the website linking to you<br />- The number of outbound links on the website that is linking to you<br />- Whether or not the websites linking to you are deemed by Google as an authority website<br />- The IP adrees of the websites linking you (they need to be from a varied source)<br /><br />Onpage optimization (which I personally consider carry's less weight).<br /><br />- Page title<br />- Header tags<br />- Meta tags<br />- Bolding, italicyzing, and underlining<br />- Placing keywords in the correct position on the page<br /><br />The first tip you should consider to optimize your website is "if it aint broke don't fix it". Why bother to start from scratch optimizing your website when you can copy someone elses!<br /><br />Choose a website that has a realistic and achievable page rank with Google, you can download the Google toolbar here http://toolbar.google.com. I would start with a page rank of 3 as this is quite easy to achieve. Type in a website url that is related to your site and you will have many many sites that show up. Choose one with the page rank of 3 and then analyze that particular sites content. You can use a very simple onpage optimization trick by going into the toolbar at the top of your browser, click 'view' and the scroll down to 'page source' and bang you can see exactly what the site is doing to make his/her onpage search optimization rank a Google 3.<br /><br />It has to be said that without doubt the most important factor to get higher in the rankins is by having high ranking websites linking back to your site. You have already chosen your website and analyzed their tricks and now you can find the exact sites that are linking to this website and get them to link to you as well. This is a hardly known trick that works everytime. Type in link:followed by the website i.e link:www.whateverthesiteiscalled.com. This will give you the exact linking strategy that this website has used to gain its ranking of 3. Now all you have to do is contact the sites that link to www.whateverthesiteiscalled.com. Now I know this is a lengthy process so this is why I have listed my "Top Picks" on the right hand side that can help you further, and make your search engine optimization alot less painful.<br /><br />I have also listed below a few excellent sites that you can use to get more links pointing back to you.
